Logistics Requirements for Selling on Miravia
6-3-2026 · 1690 views
Mandatory shipping lead times and delivery performance
Miravia requires sellers to meet order-to-delivery lead times that typically range from 24 hours for same-city fulfillment to 3–7 business days for standard national deliveries. Contracts frequently include service-level agreements (SLAs) specifying on-time delivery rates (e.g., ≥95%) and penalties for late shipments. Carriers and warehouses engaged by sellers must provide tracking updates at key milestones: pickup, handover to carrier, customs clearance (if applicable), arrival at sortation center, and final delivery.
Operational implications for carriers and warehouses
To comply with Miravia timing requirements, logistics partners should implement automated shipment notifications (ASN/EDI) within 1–2 hours after goods leave the fulfillment center. Cross-docking or prioritized dispatch lanes often become necessary during peak sales windows to maintain SLA performance. Real-time visibility through telematics and TMS integrations reduces exceptions and supports proofs of delivery.
Packaging, labeling and unitization standards
Miravia enforces strict rules on packaging to protect items and ensure efficient sorting and scanning. Sellers must use scannable barcode labels on each parcel or pallet, with SKU, weight, dimensions, and unique shipment ID. Packaging must be rated for the product’s volumetric weight and freight class; fragile or temperature-sensitive goods must include clear handling marks and required climate-control documentation.
Palletization and pallet standards
For pallet shipments, Miravia prefers standardized pallets (e.g., 1200×800 mm for Europe) loaded to specific height and weight limits to enable automated handling. Pallets must be shrink-wrapped, banded, and fitted with a master carton label showing contents and carton counts. Noncompliant pallet builds can incur repacking fees or return-to-seller instructions.
Packaging checklist
- Outer packaging suitable for multimodal transport
- Barcode placement on longest side, unobstructed
- Packing slip and commercial invoice inside or in a sealed pouch
- Protective materials to withstand drops and compression
- Temperature-control labels for cold-chain items
Documentation and compliance for domestic and cross-border shipments
All Miravia shipments must include accurate and complete documentation. For domestic orders this typically means a packing list, commercial invoice (if required), and conformant barcode label. For cross-border commerce, sellers must supply customs declarations, HS codes, country-of-origin statements, and certificates of conformity when applicable. Incorrect or missing paperwork triggers customs holdups, fines, or returns which impact seller ratings.
| Document | Required for | Primary purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Packing list | All shipments | Verification of contents by carrier and customer |
| Commercial invoice | International shipments | Customs valuation and duty assessment |
| Certificate of origin | Certain tariff-preference claims | Prove goods’ origin for reduced duties |
| Temperature log | Cold-chain items | Demonstrate continuous compliance |
Warehouse and inventory management expectations
Sellers using Miravia’s platform are expected to maintain accurate inventory levels and timely replenishment to avoid stockouts. Miravia commonly integrates with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, obligating warehouses to support cycle counts, FIFO/FEFO handling, and batch/lot traceability. For high-turn SKUs, proximity to major demand centers reduces transit times and transportation cost.
Recommended warehouse capabilities
- Real-time WMS integration with Miravia APIs
- Segregated quality control and returns processing zones
- Climate-controlled storage for regulated goods
- Capacity for kitting and multi-SKU order consolidation
Returns and reverse logistics
Miravia defines clear returns windows and condition criteria. Returns must be processed within defined SLA windows (commonly 7–14 days of receipt), with inspections logged and refund decisions communicated promptly. Reverse flows must include secure packaging, return labels, and options for local repair, refurbish, or resale. Sellers are often required to bear return shipping for defective or incorrect items, while buyer-return policies for change-of-mind orders can vary.
Reverse logistics workflow
- Customer initiates return via Miravia portal
- Return authorization and label issued
- Carrier collects and scans return shipment
- Warehouse inspects, records condition, and performs disposition
- Final credit or replacement issued
Insurance, liability and dispute resolution
Sellers and carriers must maintain appropriate cargo insurance covering loss, damage, and transit delays where stipulated. Miravia’s marketplace terms often allocate liability tiers between sellers and carriers depending on the delivery milestone at which damage occurred. Clear photographic evidence, chain-of-custody scans, and signed PODs (proofs of delivery) accelerate claims processing.
How compliance affects logistics costs and carrier selection
Noncompliance with packaging, documentation, or delivery SLAs increases total logistics cost through returns, penalties, and longer lead times. Conversely, investment in standardized pallets, robust labeling, verified carrier integrations, and reliable 3PL partnerships reduces handling costs and exceptions. Carriers with automated notifications, temperature monitoring, and flexible routing options command premium rates but lower total landed cost due to fewer disruptions.
Cost vs. service tradeoffs
- Lower-cost carriers may increase non-delivery risk and returns handling.
- Premium carriers offer better tracking and faster clearance, reducing indirect costs.
- Warehouse proximity to demand centers lowers last-mile expense.
Practical implementation checklist for Miravia sellers
- Integrate WMS/TMS with Miravia for automated ASNs and inventory sync.
- Validate barcode readability across SKUs and packaging formats.
- Standardize pallet builds and protective packing methods.
- Prepare complete customs documentation for any cross-border trade.
- Define clear returns SLA and maintain a designated returns processing area.
- Insure consignments for declared value and maintain claims-ready documentation.
Optional fact: industry surveys show that accurate labeling and ASN compliance can reduce mis-scan rates by up to 40% and cut average returns processing time by 25%, directly improving seller ratings and reducing logistics overhead.
